‘Fite Fuaite’ Throw/Tapestry
'Fite Fuaite' is a high quality woven piece of textile art that I designed for my final year project, as a visual response to this term which means 'intertwined'. I used the term in this instance to describe the interwoven relationship between the Irish language and the landscape of Ireland.
I designed the pattern based off landscape photographs I took in Gaeltacht areas over the course of my research - it's a contemporary look at the landscape from my eyes.
The typeface (font) used to communicate the words 'Fite Fuaite' was also designed by me, as a nod to old Irish typefaces referred to as Cló Gaelach.
This textile piece is 50 x 40 inches and can be used as a throw, a wall hanging tapestry, picnic blanket, a rug - whatever you please!
Feel free to get in touch about any questions you may have about this product or the project.
